Before you begin

• Sign in as a Shopify user authorized to read products and publications and to write publications.
• Select the intended supported sales-channel publication.
• Remember that publication is only one input to buyer visibility and availability in Shopify.

Standard workflow

1. Open the matrix and inspect the current observed publication values.
2. Stage up to 100 unique Boolean changes for the selected publication.
3. Generate and review the preview. Preview does not issue a publication mutation.
4. Explicitly confirm the previewed job.
5. Continue the foreground apply flow. Each authenticated HTTP action handles at most five rows; there is no hidden queue or background mutation worker.
6. Review the final observed values and per-row statuses after verification.

Verification and uncertain results

The app reads publication state again after an attempted write. A timeout or interrupted response can leave a row with an uncertain outcome until a later read establishes the observed value. Do not assume that an interrupted request means Shopify made no change; use the displayed verification status before retrying or editing the same variant elsewhere.

Undo

A history row can be eligible for undo when its latest observed Boolean still matches the value previously applied by the app. Undo restores only that prior Boolean value after another evidence check. It does not restore an original publication timestamp or unrelated Shopify metadata.

Boundaries

• One supported APP-catalog publication per job.
• No Shopify Markets or B2B catalog workflow.
• No scheduled publication, CSV rules, or background automation.
• No theme hiding, inventory editing, price editing, or parent-product write.
• No customer or order data access.
• Native variant publication changes can still update parent-product metadata within Shopify.

History, deletion, and uninstalling

Job and row history has a nominal 30-day expiry and is removed in a later authenticated foreground maintenance pass. A foreground operation can be claimed only before that deadline. With fewer than five minutes remaining, only that job's expiry moves to five minutes after the claim, never beyond preview time plus 30 days and five minutes. Requests at or after the nominal deadline cannot claim the job, and later requests cannot renew the grace. OAuth-confirmed installation generations prevent an older delayed lifecycle delivery from deleting a later reinstall. A matching authenticated uninstall removes that generation's app-held shop data and sessions. It does not reverse publication changes already stored by Shopify.
